ABM's Cooperative Gear Initiative

Alaska Backcountry Ministries supports Alaskan congregations who seek to use the outdoors fro the spiritual development of their young people. Additionally, we support congregations that use their own adult volunteers to lead and mentor their youth.

Starting in 2008, ABM is making their extensive gear library available to Alaskan congregations. Knowing that many families cannot make the financial commitment to properly outfit thier youth with outdoor gear, ABM supplies gear for youth and congregations that cannot afford their own gear. We can supply the following items to congregations,youth, and religious non-profits:

-Tents
-Backpacks
-Sleeping bags
-Sleeping pads
-Backpacking stoves
-Pots/Pans/Utensils
-Other miscellaneous gear

We have enough gear to outfit about 15 individuals. Deposits are required for all items checked out of our gear library. Free-will donations to ABM for the use of our gear is strongly recommended. Gear is available only when not in use for official ABM trips.
